Privacy Policy

How snagg collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

Who we are

snagg (“we”, “us”) is a wishlist app that lets you save products you want, organise them into wishlists, and share them with friends and family. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email us at business@snaggwishlist.app.

Information we collect

Account information. When you register we collect your email address and a password, or, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the name and email address those providers share with us. We also collect the profile details you choose to add: your name, username, date of birth, profile photo, and preferred currency, and optionally a phone number and gender.

Your content. The wishlists you create and the products you save: photos you upload or capture, product names, prices, links, notes, and the shops they come from.

Social activity. Who you follow, who follows you, pending follow requests, and the people you’ve blocked, so the social side of snagg works.

Contacts (optional). If you choose to invite friends, we ask for access to your device contacts so you can pick who to invite. Contacts are read on your device to compose the invitation; we do not upload your address book to our servers.

Device and usage information. Push notification tokens (so we can deliver notifications you’ve enabled), device identifiers, and basic technical and diagnostic logs generated when the app talks to our servers.

How you use the app. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how snagg is used (which screens are opened and which features are used) so we can improve it. This activity is linked to your account.

Crash reports. If the app crashes or runs into an error, Firebase Crashlytics sends us a report: what went wrong, your device model and operating system, the app version, and a short log of what the app was doing at the time. Reports are linked to your account so we can find and fix problems you run into. We use them only to fix bugs.

Approximate location. If you sign in with Google, the Google Sign-In service collects approximate location as part of securing that sign-in. snagg itself does not request or use your location, and never asks for precise location.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide snagg: creating and displaying your profile and wishlists, sharing wishlists with people you choose, showing you who wants to follow you, sending notifications you’ve enabled (such as follow requests and account verification codes), keeping your account secure, and keeping snagg safe for everyone. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Keeping snagg safe

We check content that other people can see, so snagg stays a friendly place.

Text. Names, usernames, wishlist titles and descriptions, and product names and notes are checked against a list of offensive words. They may also be sent to OpenAI’s moderation service, which checks for sexual, hateful, harassing or violent content.

Product links. When you add a product link, we send the link to Google Web Risk to check it for malware, phishing and unwanted software, and we compare it against a list of adult websites. When we fill in a product’s details from its link, the page’s title, description, shop name and image may also be checked by OpenAI’s moderation service.

These services receive only the content being checked, never your name or contact details, and use it only to carry out the check. Content that fails a check may be blocked or left out.

Blocking and reporting. You can block other users, and report people or content, from within the app. A report is sent to our team by email with the details of what was reported, and we review every one.

Sharing and visibility

Your profile and public wishlists are visible to other snagg users, and wishlists you share via a link can be viewed by anyone with that link. If your account is set to private, your wishlists are visible only to followers you approve. People you block can’t see your profile or wishlists in the app.

Service providers

snagg runs on Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage, cloud functions, analytics, and crash reporting, hosted on Google Cloud in Europe). We use Apple and Google for optional sign-in; Expo, together with Apple and Google’s push notification services, to deliver notifications; and trusted email delivery providers to send account emails such as verification codes. We use OpenAI’s moderation service and Google Web Risk for the safety checks described above. These providers process data only to provide their services to us. Some of them, Google Sign-In in particular, collect information directly through their own software in the app, including device identifiers, approximate location, and diagnostic data.

Your rights and choices

You can update your profile details in the app’s settings at any time, change your notification permissions in your device settings, and delete your account from within the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing; contact us to exercise them.

Deleting your account. This permanently deletes your profile, your contact details, the photos you’ve uploaded, your followers, following and blocks, and your sign-in. The wishlists and products you created are kept only in anonymous form: they’re separated from you, no longer appear in the app, and can’t be linked back to you.

Children

snagg is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation

snagg is committed to protecting children from any form of sexual abuse, exploitation, or harm, and has a zero-tolerance policy for any content or behaviour that breaks this standard. Any attempt to misuse snagg to exploit children will lead to immediate account suspension, removal of the content and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.

Prohibited content and behaviour. Users must not: upload, share, or link to any content that depicts, promotes, or glorifies child sexual abuse, exploitation, or harm in any form; use snagg to solicit, groom, or engage with minors inappropriately; impersonate or misrepresent anyone, particularly a minor, in order to exploit others; or encourage or enable illegal activity that puts children at risk.

How we prevent misuse. snagg is built for creating and sharing wishlists. We run automated checks on text and product links (see “Keeping snagg safe”), let you block other users, and let you report content, wishlists, or accounts from within the app.

Reporting and enforcement. If you come across content or behaviour that breaks this policy, report it in the app or email us at help@snaggwishlist.app. We take every report seriously and will act on it, including removing the content, suspending or banning the account responsible, and reporting to law enforcement and child protection organisations where necessary.

Compliance and cooperation. snagg complies with applicable laws and cooperates with child protection agencies and law enforcement to address violations.

Data retention and security

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete it, apart from the anonymous wishlist and product records described above and any copy we must keep by law. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we’ll update this page and note the new effective date below. Continued use of snagg after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

Effective date: 20 October 2026
